Not another tracking refresh

Tracking pages show events. A recovery case connects those events to people, handovers, evidence and a specific request for action.

One manifest of known facts

When the seller, carrier, recipient and support desk hold different fragments, the case record becomes the shared reference.

SCAN 01RecordCapture references, dates, parties, locations and the requested outcome.
SCAN 02VerifySeparate confirmed events from assumptions and conflicting messages.
SCAN 03TraceFollow the parcel path and identify the last accountable handover.
SCAN 04EscalateSend the case to the appropriate seller, carrier, facility or platform route.

Where the parcel trail can lose signal

A package rarely vanishes in an abstract “delivery network”. The useful question is which physical or administrative handover stopped producing reliable evidence.

BP / 01

Label created

An order exists, but the packed item has not reached a verified carrier scan.

BP / 02

Collected

A driver or collection point has the parcel, while the next depot event is missing.

BP / 03

Sorted

The item entered a facility but may have moved to an exception cage or wrong route.

BP / 04

Out for delivery

The final-mile scan exists, but address, safe-place or recipient evidence is unclear.

BP / 05

Returned

The reverse journey began without a confirmed seller or warehouse receipt.

BP / 06

Internal handover

Reception, mailroom or staff movement continued without a named receiving record.

Case close / outcomes

A useful close is more than “ticket resolved”

The record should say what happened to the goods and what remains available to the sender, recipient or business. If the parcel is still missing, an unresolved close must still identify the final evidence, decision and next available route.

RecoveredLocation and return handover recorded
DeliveredRecipient evidence reconciled
ReplacedNew dispatch linked to the original case
RefundedValue, date and responsible party recorded
UnresolvedFinal trace and escalation position documented

Recovery is only half the work

For organisations, a closed case can expose a better label, scan point, holding zone, notification or escalation rule.

Open

Define the item, parties, references and desired resolution.

Verify

Check addresses, dates, tracking events and handover evidence.

Trace

Locate the point where the verified chain stops.

Act

Use the relevant escalation or operational response.

Close

Document the outcome and any control change.
